the way, in Kannada , ‘Hattu’ means
ten and
‘angadi ' is shop and hence the name .
For some thirtynine years, I was working in B.A.R.C as a scientist. After retirement, writing short stories or articles has been my main passion and a pastime . I have some of my stories published --- mostly in our community magazine, “Kanara Saraswat ” . But, then you are at mercy of the whim and fancy of the editors ; so, I felt why not go directly to my target audience through the world wide web. This is where I propose to publish my stories / articles in future. After all, the appreciation --- or even any criticism, for that matter --- from his esteemed readers is what any author really craves for. So, your comments will be most welcome . I wish to include interesting articles from other authors too; so, if you have something to say or share with others, then please be my guest and do it here on this site. E-mail to me your articles, short story, poems, jokes or whatever and I will post them here on this site without any editorial interference. But, no porn or controversies, please ! In any case, like they say, the opinions expressed will be those of the respective authors and not of the management.
In the beginning , I propose to give my already published , old articles rather than any new one. However, this time it’s a recently published article : “Atithidevo Bhav” . As you will notice, this particular one , as also most of my other stories , is based in part on a true incident in my life --- although , sometimes , I do try to dramatize it a bit for effect and also try to add an undercurrent of humour. Hope you will like it --- but, please let me know if you did. Bye for now.
